Leo Breaks Records as the Highest Opener in the Kollywood Industry

On the opening day, Thalapathy Vijay’s film “Leo” collected an impressive Rs 145 crore, making it the highest-grossing film in the history of Kollywood cinema. Released on October 19, the film showcases Vijay’s exceptional performance as the character named Parthi. Sanjay Dutt is seen in the role of the dreaded gangster Antony Das.

This is the first time that a Kollywood film has received such a massive opening worldwide. It has also become the highest-grossing film of Vijay’s career. With the box office collection of Leo, Vijay has surpassed the collections of his previous two films, Beast and Sarkar.. Made with a budget of around Rs 300 crore, this film has been released on 900 screens.

There was no morning show, yet the collection was beyond expectations.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, this film was surrounded by numerous controversies prior to its release. Despite this, it was eventually released in Hindi and Telugu regions. However, the film managed to surprise everyone with its impressive earnings on the first day.

Despite not having a morning show, the film has still managed to earn Rs 30 crore in Tamil Nadu and Rs 15 crore in Andhra Pradesh-Telangana.

On the first day, the film achieved an impressive 86. 92% occupancy in theaters within the Tamil genre. The morning show alone witnessed around 86. 35% occupancy, while the night show reached over 90%. This Vijay-starrer film had a total of 1282 shows in Chennai. However, it remains to be seen whether the film can sustain its opening day momentum or not.

Pathan took the lead over KGF 2 but failed to surpass Jawan in Hindi

Leo has earned Rs 68 crore in the Hindi belt, surpassing Pathan (57 crore), KGF 2 (53. 95 crore), and War (53. 35 crore). The young man is still leading in this race. On its opening day, Jawan collected an impressive Rs 75 crore at the Indian box office.

Worldwide opening record in the name of RRR

Talking about the first-day collection of any Indian film, ‘RRR’ had collected Rs 225.5 crore worldwide. In this list, Bahubali-2 is in second place with a first-day collection of Rs 213 crore.
